Coroner: Brunswick police shot man in standoff

BRUNSWICK -- New details have emerged after a 30-hour standoff with police.

The Medina County Coroner's Office tells Channel 3 the 39 year-old suspect was shot several times by police Saturday night.

On Friday afternoon at 1528 Jefferson Avenue, police say the man held a woman hostage during the long standoff.

The woman was injured but police are not saying how at this point and time. She was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center where she was treated for her injuries.

Police have not released the names of the victim or the man that squared off against police.

The Bureau of Criminal Investigation is currently investigating the incident.
