EAST CLEVELAND -- Community activists are joining the American Civil Liberties Union in asking for an independent investigation of the deadly Cleveland police pursuit.
The group is asking Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Tim McGinty to remove himself from the process and that a special prosecutor be appointed.
They are also asking the U.S. Department of Justice to take control of the investigation instead of local law enforcment.
Right now the East Cleveland Police Department and the Cuyahoga County Sheriff's Office is handling the investigation with the Bureau of Criminal Investigation
Friday night the NAACP will hold a public forum at Shaw High School to discuss the incident and the investigation.
Outside in the parking lot, activists plan to voice these recent demands.
