MENTOR -- A driver has been charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated after police say his car rammed into a  home in Mentor, injuring those inside.

Police have identified the driver as Daniel A. Vanderhoof Jr., 28, of Willoughby. In addition to OVI, Vanderhoof is charged with driving under suspension, driving without a license, reckless operation and leaving the scene of an accident. A passenger in the car with Vanderhoof has not been charged.

Police were called to the 7000 block of Comanche Trail Sunday morning just before 3 a.m. for reports of a car that had hit a house. Police say the car went through the entire house, trapping and injuring the four people, including two children, sleeping inside.

An adult female, aged 30, inside the home has been treated and released from Lake West Hospital. The other adult, a 31-year-old man, remains in stable condition at Metro.

Two children in the home, a 3-year-old boy and a 1-year-old girl are in stable condition at Rainbow.
