WKYC Web StaffCLEVELAND -- The Browns have fired head coach Pat Shurmur and General Manager Tom Heckert.
Browns owner Jimmy Haslam was seen entering the team's headquarters in Berea earlier this morning.
Both Shurmur and Heckert were informed of their job status in Berea.
In two seasons, Shurmur had an overall record of 9-23 including a mark of 2-10 against divisional opponents.
The players have a meeting scheduled for Monday morning in Berea at the team's headquarters. Afterwards, the locker room is open to the media at 10:30 a.m.
Now the focus shifts toward who will replace Shurmur and Heckert. Head coach candidates include Penn State's Bill O'Brien and Oregon's Chip Kelly.
CBS Sports is reporting Jon Gruden will interview for head coaching jobs around the league. It is not known if the Browns will be one of the teams that will interview with the Superbowl winning coach.
The Browns closed out the season after a 24-10 loss to the Steelers.
