CLEVELAND -- Cleveland's historic West Side Market is shuttered again today and will remain closed until further notice.
A fire early Wednesday morning damaged some of the stalls inside the market. There is no structural damage to the century-old building, but there is extensive smoke damage. Clean-up is still underway inside the market's interior.
Vendors are expected to get an update from the city this afternoon on what they can expect in the days ahead. Food throughout the market must be inspected before the market can reopen.
Damages for the vendors are still being assessed. The cause of the fire is not yet known.
The West Side Market is a popular draw for residents and tourists alike.
It just celebrated its 100th birthday last year.
