East Cleveland's Mayor Gary Norton announced that the second victim found has been identified as Angela Deskins, 38, of Cleveland. She had been reported missing since June 7 and is listed on the Cleveland Police missing persons website.
Michael Madison is charged with aggravated murder and kidnapping in the deaths of Deskins and the two other victims. He was arraigned this morning on the charges following a news conference with authorities.
Bond for Madison is set at $6 million. He did not enter a plea.
Earlier Monday, police exclusively told WKYC that Madison confessed to one of the murders.
The first body was discovered Friday in a garage at Shaw and Hayden, the two others were found Saturday. Each body had been wrapped in plastic.
Medical Examiner, Dr. Thomas Gilson, says each body was in advanced stages of decomposition. Dr. Gilson says all autopsies have been completed but cause of death hasn't been determined.
Fingerprints were used to identify Angela Deskins.
Dr. Gilson says one of the victims had a number of tattoos. Anyone with information on the possible identity of the victims should call 1-800-CALL-FBI.
Madison is a registered sex offender. Police say Madison has been cooperative.
East Cleveland Mayor Gary Norton says Madison indicated he might have been influenced by the earlier case convicted Cleveland serial killer, Anthony Sowell.
The Facts
People of East Cleveland are shocked after three bodies were discovered wrapped in plastic. The first was discovered Friday followed by two more Saturday.
Sunday volunteers from the neighborhood were told to expect to find more remains in the area of Shaw and Hayden avenues.
Community members, alongside police, searched over 12 streets and roughly 50 abandoned homes for evidence of more victims that may be part of a serial killing spree.
During the search cadaver dogs lead investigators to a lot near the area where 3 other bodies were found. Other cadaver dogs also hinted at the same area.
Three crime scene trucks and an evidence recovery team were brought in to check the lot. Evidence technicians analyzed the area for hours but nothing turned up.
The search was called off last night.
