CLEVELAND -- Extreme heat continues as the summer sizzle sticks around, which is why the National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory from 1 p.m. - 9 p.m. Wednesday.

"The combination of high humidity and hot temperatures will cause the heat index values to exceed 100 by 1 p.m." the advisory states.

Forecasters predict the heat index will reach 104 degrees.

"Expect hazy, hot and humid conditions today and avoid unnecessary activity during the heat of the day," the National Weather Service says.

To avoid heat-related illnesses, drink plenty of water, stay in an air-conditioned room, remain out of the sun, wear light and loose-fitting clothing and reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or evening.
