CLEVELAND -- The FBI says remains have been found in the area where investigators are searching for missing teenager, Christina Adkins.
The FBI says the Medical Examiner has been called to the site to determine if the remains are human in nature.
The search is in an area at I-90 and the Jennings Freeway. The area being searched is under a bridge according to the FBI.
About 25 to 30 investigators are searching the site which has been surrounded with crime scene tape.
The FBI says agents are working on information developed by investigators assigned to the FBI's Violent Crimes Task Force.
FBI Special Agent Vicki Anderson said in a mid-morning news conference that the FBI "feels strongly about" the information that has led to this latest search. She says investigators are hopeful there will soon be a resolution. Anderson says investigators have never given up on the case.
This is the third search for Adkins in just a matter of weeks.
Previous searches took place on Vega Avenue on August 30 and on W. 7th on October 2.
Adkins has been missing since January 11, 1995. She was 18 and pregnant when she disappeared.
The FBI says Adkins family has been told about the latest search.
