WASHINGTON D.C.-- A new Congress will be sworn in Thursday and must get ready to grapple with the difficult leftover issues that snarled the last one.
The fiscal cliff deal has now been signed by the President. But spending cuts that could affect most programs and agencies will be the subject of more dramatic debate in late February.
Northeast Ohio will have some new faces representing it in Congress.
Former Geauga County Prosecutor, Republican David Joyce will be sworn in to replace outgoing Congressman Steve LaTourette in the 14th District.
After eight terms, Congressman Dennis Kucinich's time in Congress is over.
Constituents on Cleveland's west side and its western suburbs will now be represented by 9th District Congresswoman, Toledo's Marcy Kaptur.
Kaptur is the senior Democrat on the powerful appropriations committee.
Democratic Congresswoman Betty Sutton is leaving office. She lost a 16th District battle with conservative Republican Jim Renacci.
Democratic Senator Sherrod Brown will take his second oath office in the company of Former Ohio Senator John Glenn.
