Dump truck crashes into bridge, closes I-90

CLEVELAND -- Interstate 90 has been closed down after a dump truck crashed into a bridge.

The accident happened on I-90 westbound between E. 156th  Street and E. 185th Street around 6:45a.m.

Police say the truck was traveling with a raised trailer when it hit the bridge causing the truck to roll over. 

Police have closed the highway in both directions because the bridge is severely damaged.

Travelers are asked to avoid the area entirely.

Vehicles traveling eastbound on I-90 will exit on E.185th Street or sooner. People asked to travel south to St. Clair Avenue to E. 152nd Street to access I-90.

Vehicles traveling westbound are asked to take Interstate 271 or Interstate 480.

If you are taking Interstate 77 or Interstate 71 you are asked to take Interstate 480 to go east.

ODOT is on scene and says the bridge maybe closed down for the weekend.

There are no serious injuries or fatalities being reported at this time.
