MEDINA, Ohio -- Parents, teachers and students in the Medina School district are outraged over a supersized bonus for the superintendent.

This at a time when parents are paying for extracurriculars, teachers are accepting pay cuts, and the district hasn't passed a levy in five years.

On Wednesday night, the board invited parents to its already scheduled executive session to discuss labor issues and personnel matters.

Some 200 parents, students and teachers showed but were not heard.

The board told them to write down their questions and comments and they would be answered on the district web site.

"People need to be heard. They should at least hear us out," parent Janice Krusoczky said.

Board members say the superintendent is paid what he is worth.

They are holding a public hearing from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at the performing arts center.
