CLEVELAND -- The Ohio Department of Transportation says all lanes on I-90 westbound and eastbound at the Innerbelt Curve are closed due to an accident.
According to police, a truck lost its load dumping a large battery onto the highway. The impact caused the battery to split open spilling acid on the highway and requiring a HAZMAT team to clean it up. The clean up could take several hours.
I-90 from the Innerbelt Curve (Dead Man's Curve) to Prospect is closed in both directions.
The Chester, Carnegie and Superior entrance ramps are closed as well, however the freeway is open at Prospect. The SR 2 eastbound ramp to I-90 westbound is also closed at this time
Traffic is being diverted off the freeway at Prospect Avenue and drivers should use alternative routes.
Traffic is stop and go through the area.
