CLEVELAND -- The Port of Cleveland was packed with people taking in the Tall Ships Festival on this 4th of July. So was the harbor, with boats of all sizes cruising by to take a look.
We sent WKYC Photojournalist Carl "Big Daddy" Bachtel over to see how things are going. Here's what he found.
The lines at the Tall Ships festival are longer than the ships are tall, but people don't seem to mind.
Clevelanders Helen and Helena Rhynard's favorite ship was the Sorlandet, a floating school from Norway. The lakefront festival adds to the "buzz" Cleveland is generating.

"We need to take advantage of it, monopolize on that, and bring attention to our city. It's a great place to live."
The Tall Ships lured Pittsburgh area residents Jean and David Geary to Cleveland.
Their first impression?
"It's beautiful. I think people get the misconception of what Cleveland looks like. Actually driving in here, it's a really nice city."
If perception is everything, then I guess you might say Cleveland's ship has come in.
