RICHFIELD -- Attorney General Mike DeWine has released the state's investigation into a deadly police chase and shooting that ended last November in the deaths of two people.
In detailing the report's finding, DeWine addressed the gunshot residue tests conducted inside the car and on the bodies of Timothy Russell and Malissa Williams.
DeWine says particles consistent with gunshot primer residue were found both in the car and on the hands of both Russell and Williams. However, DeWine says such a finding would be expected in such a case where the subjects were being fired on at close range.
He says the gunshot residue tests are inconclusive as to whether either did or did not fire a gun. A search along the chase route has turned up no weapon.
